Introducing Kecia Cooksey-Cole | Attorney
Please join us in welcoming attorney, Kecia Cooksey-Cole, to Bedlam Law. Kecia grew up in El Reno, Oklahoma graduating from high school there and then attending Oklahoma State University where she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in accounting.
Upon graduation from Oklahoma State, Kecia attended Oklahoma City University School of Law where she graduated in 1994. While attending OCU Law School Kecia studied and passed her Certified Public Accountancy examination. During Law School, she served as Secretary for the Board of Governors, and subsequently the President of the Board of Governors. Kecia was also one of two student representatives selected to represent OCU Law School at the American Bar Association National Convention two years in a row, in San Francisco and in New York City. Kecia was also on the Faculty Honor Roll, Moot Court Board and received an award from Dean Robert Henry for her service to the school.
Kecia was an intern with the District Attorney’s Office for Oklahoma County. After graduation, Kecia took a position at Memorial Bank as their in-house counsel. After working at the Bank for a few years Kecia opened her own practice for two years, and subsequently became of Counsel and then a Partner with the firm Robertson & Williams where she spent the next 22 years. Her cases consisted of oil & gas title opinions, all aspects of mineral acquisitions, estate planning, wills, trusts and probates, and real property, quiet title actions.
Kecia has been with her husband, Wade, since the 8th grade. They married in 1989 and have two (2) daughters, Londyn, a nursing student at Oklahoma City University, who is married to Brody and has one son, Jude Wade and Fallyn, who is working on her doctorate of chiropractic at Parker Chiropractic School in Dallas, Texas. Kecia feels very blessed to have her husband as he is a colon cancer survivor. Kecia and her husband enjoy riding horses and spending time on their family farm in El Reno. The Coles are active in their church and Kecia loves going on mission trips to Nicaragua and tries to go when the opportunity presents itself.
Kecia is excited to join us at Bedlam Law where practicing family and estate law, will allow her to pursue her passion to help and serve others. Cooksey-Cole, who is known for her generosity and hard work, says that her ideal client is someone who needs her help, trusts that she has their best interests at heart and knows she will work hard and fight for them.
